Cookie Policy

The short version: we don't run tracking cookies, analytics, or advertising pixels. Here's the one thing we do store, and why.

Last updated 17 September 2026 Zero third-party trackers

01What are cookies

Cookies are small text files a website can ask your browser to store, typically used to remember who you are between page loads, track behavior across a site, or serve targeted ads. "Similar technologies" — local storage, session storage, pixels — do comparable things through slightly different mechanisms.

02What we actually use

We set zero cookies.

No analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers, no cross-site tracking of any kind. Nothing on this site reads or writes document.cookie.

That's a deliberate choice, not an oversight — it's the same paranoid-first posture we apply to client work. The only thing we store client-side is described below, and it's local storage, not a cookie.

03Local storage, explained

When you toggle between light and dark mode, we save that preference in your browser's local storage under the key tradescene-theme, so the site opens in the mode you last chose instead of resetting every visit.

Local storage never leaves your device automatically — unlike a cookie, it isn't attached to your requests and sent to our server. We simply read it back with JavaScript when the page loads.

04Third-party content

A handful of pages load resources from third-party content delivery networks — web fonts and a small animation library. These are static files (fonts, scripts), served the same way to everyone; they don't set cookies or track you individually. We don't embed third-party analytics, chat widgets, or ad networks on this site.

05Your choices

Because there's nothing to opt out of, there's nothing to configure. If you'd still like to clear the one thing we do store:

  • Open your browser's developer tools (or Settings → Privacy → Site Data);
  • Find tradescene.org in local storage;
  • Delete the tradescene-theme entry — the site will fall back to your system's light/dark preference.

Clearing your browser's site data entirely will also remove it, along with everything else stored for this site (which, again, is just that one value).

06Changes to this policy

If that ever changes — say, if we add analytics down the line — we'll update this page first, with the "last updated" date revised, before anything new ships.

Still have a question?

We'd rather explain it directly than make you guess from a policy page.
