Common questions

Things people ask before they write.

Do you work with businesses outside Nairobi?

Yes. We're headquartered in Muranga with roots in Nakuru City, and we work with clients across Kenya and wider East Africa. Most of what we ship is remote-friendly software — location isn't the constraint. If you need an on-site visit, we'll say so upfront.

How does fixed pricing work if I don't know my scope yet?

We won't quote a fixed price until we understand what you need — that's how we keep the "fixed" honest. The first conversation is a scoping conversation, in plain English, and then you get a fixed number. If the scope isn't clear enough to fix a price against, we'll say that and offer a paid discovery instead of inventing a range.

Can you take over a system someone else built?

Sometimes. It depends on the state of the code, documentation, and access we can get to the environment. Send us what you have — even just a repo link and a description — and we'll give you an honest read on whether taking it over is the right move or a waste of money.

Do you do retainers or one-off projects?

Both. Most engagements start as fixed-scope and turn into a maintenance or retainer relationship if the project goes well and you want us to stay on it. We don't lock you in — if at any point you want to take the system in-house, we'll help with the handover instead of making it painful.

What's your security posture on the systems you build?

Defensive coding and paranoid-first design — that's the founding principle, not a marketing line. Concretely: input validation on every boundary, no secrets in code, encrypted transport everywhere, least-privilege by default, and a security review before anything goes to production. If you're subject to a specific standard (ISO 27001, SOC 2, NDPR, PCI DSS), tell us in your message and we'll scope against it.

Last thing

If it's not a fit, we'll say so. That's the point.

You've probably talked to firms that will agree to anything. We won't. If we can help, we'll tell you how. If we can't, we'll tell you who can. Either way, you'll get a real answer.
